Many families have been drawn to Highland Oaks over the years because of the Special Needs Ministry, which is designed to welcome, accept, and love all people with disabilities. Bible classes have been developed to share the Gospel utilizing a developmentally appropriate curriculum. Over the years, this ministry has served as a wonderful witness to the surrounding community.
There are many opportunities to serve in this rewarding ministry. Some volunteers desire to teach a class or assist in the development of appropriate curriculum. Others prefer to work one-on-one with children or their families by providing transportation, respite care, or visiting group homes. Still others serve by sending cards and letters of encouragement. Highland Oaks is blessed with volunteers who have a deep love and compassion for families affected by disability, and work tirelessly to meet the needs of these precious souls.
